AI in your workflow: house rules, and how are you actually using it?

This forum's stance, stated plainly so nobody has to guess: AI tools are allowed here. Using them is not cheating, admitting you use them is not a confession, and nobody will be run off this site for how they made their game. We judge work by quality, not origin. Low-effort slop gets moderated because it is slop, not because it is AI.

That settled, this section is for the actually interesting conversation: how are you really using these tools?
  • Code and plugins: debugging, generating boilerplate, learning a new language
  • Writing: brainstorming, NPC barks, editing passes, or as a rubber duck that talks back
  • Art and audio: concepting, placeholders, finals? Where has it worked and where has it fallen flat?
  • Workflow: what has genuinely saved you time, and what turned into a mess you had to redo by hand?

Honest experiences wanted, including the failures. "I tried X and it was useless for Y" is exactly as valuable here as a success story.

One community norm: when releasing a game or asset pack, be upfront about AI use in it. Not because it is shameful, but because transparency is how we keep trust while the wider world figures this stuff out. Players and buyers get to make informed choices; creators get to work how they want. That is the deal, and it is a good one.
