Forum Rules
The short version: be excellent to each other, and be interesting.
RPG Catalyst runs a little differently than other dev forums. We would rather be a rowdy tavern than a silent library, so the rules below are about keeping fights fair and the feed worth reading, not about policing tone.
1. Debate is welcome. Really.
2. AI is allowed here.
3. Keep it legal. No pirated engines, assets, or games, and only share resources you actually have the right to share. Credit your sources.
4. Promote like a person, not a billboard. Show off your game, your assets, your commissions. Just be part of the community beyond your own threads; accounts that only ever post links get treated as spam.
5. One account per person. Sock puppets, vote games, and review-stacking your own resources will get cleaned up.
6. Mark the heavy stuff. Use
How moderation works here
Moderators exist to remove spam and abuse, not to referee opinions or gatekeep who counts as a real developer. Beginner questions are welcome, weird experimental projects are welcome, and nobody needs permission to have a take. When we do act, we log it and we say why. If you think a call was wrong, message an admin instead of relitigating it in the thread.
Repeat or serious violations earn warnings and bans. Everything else earns you a seat at the table. Roll high.

1. Debate is welcome. Really.
- Argue about engines, mechanics, art styles, monetization, whatever. Strong opinions are the point of a forum.
- Attack ideas as hard as you want. Attacking people is where it ends: no harassment, slurs, doxxing, or following someone around the forum to dunk on them.
- A heated thread that stays on topic will not be locked just because people disagree. Moderators step in for abuse, not for arguments.
2. AI is allowed here.
- AI-assisted art, code, music, and writing are welcome, in your projects and in the Resource Manager. Plenty of us use these tools, and there is a whole forum for discussing them.
- Disclose it where it matters: resource listings and asset packs should say what is AI-generated, so people know what they are downloading.
- The bar is quality, not origin. Effortless slop, mass-generated flooding, and copy-pasted AI answers nobody proofread get removed the same way any other spam does. If a human would be embarrassed to post it, do not make a machine post it.

[spoiler] tags for spoilers and content warnings where it is reasonable. Mature themes in your games are fine to discuss; explicit content does not belong in the public forums. How moderation works here
